共7名！ Jose Molina C D.L. May 8 quadriceps Day-to-day Latest News: Yankees placed catcher Jose Molina on the 15-day disabled list with a grade-2 strain of his left quadriceps. Horrible timing for the Yankees, who are already without starting catcher Jorge Posada. Kevin Cash was called up from Triple-A to take Molina's roster spot, and in all likelihood whoever plays better, Cash or the recently-promoted Francisco Cervelli, will get the bulk of the playing time. As for Molina's time out, Yankees GM Brian Cashman said, "We're hoping it's two weeks, but we will see." Jorge Posada C D.L. May 5 hamstring Return late May Latest News: According to Peter Abraham of The Journal News, folks within the Yankees' clubhouse believe Jorge Posada (hamstring) may miss up to 3-5 weeks. Posada was placed on the disabled list Tuesday and some New York-based reporters gave him a 2-3 week timetable. Those estimates were a bit premature, it seems. Posada has a Grade 2 strain and can barely lift his leg without feeling discomfort. Damaso Marte R D.L. May 3 shoulder Return mid-May Latest News: Yankees placed LHP Damaso Marte on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 26, with left shoulder tendinitis. Marte looks like one of the smartest people in major league baseball after taking a three-year, $12 million deal from the Yankees very early on last winter. Similar talents settled for one-year deals, and while they could do better back on the market this winter, it's doubtful that a one-year contract would have worked out well for Marte. He's already given up nine runs in just 5 1/3 innings this season. Brian Bruney R D.L. Apr 25 elbow Return mid-May Latest News: Brian Bruney (elbow) played catch from 60 feet on Saturday. He reported no pain or discomfort. Bruney will try to throw from 90 feet on Monday, then the Yankees can begin planning bullpen sessions. He's not expected to return until June. Chien-Ming Wang S D.L. Apr 25 hip Return mid-May Latest News: Chien-Ming Wang (hip, foot) looked great in an extended spring training game Thursday. Wang struck out seven batters over five innings on 72 pitches. His hip muscles are improving as is his surgically repaired right foot. He is slated to throw 100 pitches next Tuesday, likely in a minor league sting rather than another extended spring training game. Cody Ransom 3B D.L. Apr 25 quadriceps Return late June Latest News: Yankees placed infielder Cody Ransom on the 60-day disabled list with a strained quad. There's no reason to think Ransom's is a two-month injury, but the Yanks needed to clear a 40-man roster spot and he was one of the most expendable players. Angel Berroa will take over as Alex Rodriguez's replacement. Xavier Nady OF D.L. Apr 15 elbow Out indefinitely Latest News: Xavier Nady said he is having plasma injected directly into the area around his partially torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow in an attempt to speed his return to the Yankees. To recap: steroids evil, plasma good. Takashi Saito reportedly received similar treatments last year. "If Saito was able to come back as a pitcher, that is a good sign for me," Nady said.
