您好，分享準備 I-485 出生證明文件的心得，供參考。出生證明應為當地政府（civil authority）出具之出生證明，也就是戶政事務所出具的出生證明。因戶政事務所未提供英文譯本，僅能申請中文出生證明再設法翻譯。翻譯文件僅要求附上翻譯者憑證（Certification）。將下方範例附於文件底部即可。 Certification by Translator I, <Translator Name>, certify that I am fluent in the English and Chinese languages, and that the above document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitiled: <Document name>. Date: <Translator Sign Date> Signature: <Translator Sign his/her name> <Translator Name> <Translator Address> 2018年申請時，我是附上戶政事務所中文出生證明與英文譯本（翻譯者憑證是請熟稔英文的朋友簽名）。以及，醫院開立的英文出生證明（這應該是多餘的）。法院跟外交部公證應非必須，I-485 說明書並未要求。戶口名簿的翻譯是Household Registration，理應無法作為出生證明。當然，人品大爆發的時候，朋友在DMV問What is illegal？都可以獲得承辦人員直接代為填表，自行在系統裡搜尋需要資訊，辦到駕照。沒有什麼事情是不可能的。 -- Form I-485 Instructions https://www.uscis.gov/i-485 (12/13/17 N) - General Instructions - Translations If you submit a document with information in a foreign language, you must also submit a full English translation.
